Memorial Day Weekend

we had a really nice weekend. ryan, ellie and i enjoyed the nice weather by playing outside and riding bikes and decorating our porch with chalk drawings. sugar even enjoyed a ride in the stroller from elizabeth.
we than went up to the cabin, and even though it rained we still had a good time.
elizabeth really liked looking into the river but her favorite part was when papa lifted her up to see the hummingbirds.

Where Is Sugar?

ryan and i couldn't find sugar anywhere. we rang the doorbell, searched outside, looked under all the beds and she was nowhere to be found. Finally after like 30 minutes elizabeth found her...

crazy 'meg' hair

ryan took elizabeth's braids out of her hair and she thought her hair looked so funny. she than kept saying she had 'meg hair', and the only thing we could come up with was my sister holly's poodle meg...and it makes sense, her hair looks just like meg.

Mother's Day

i read a quote once when i was young, it said something like...
the moment a child is born, the mother is also born. she never existed before. the woman existed, the the mother, never. a mother is something absolutely new.
how true that quote is. even when i was pregnant and a mother-to-be, i didn't realize the true importance of actually being a mother.
when elizabeth was laid on my chest, that moment, i touched my lips to her face, and it was like i was filled with so much strength, kindness, devotion, patience, happiness, comfort, and just pure love for her.
that's when i became a mother. that is also when i gained so much more appreciation for my mother. i love her so very much! her love, her mothers love has given me and the rest of my siblings the fuel the enables us as human being to do the the impossible, to follow our dreams and to be loving individuals, and i hope i can do the same for elizabeth. i'm so honored to acknowledge mothers and to be acknowledged on mothers day.

we celebrated mothers at the turners home. it was nice being together, we even took time and all gathered around the computer to i-chatted with the taintors. i spent a lot of my time playing with the kids... mariah wanted me to make sure that i pointed out how strong she looks in her picture of us together ;)

Good Times

i have always been a bit of a social butterfly, but to be honest i am pretty content with having a smaller group of friends. i keep them very close though, and i would do anything for anyone of them! i spend most of my weekends with my best friends, the garff's and the cleverly's, we just love them so much!
i say this all the time, but we have so much fun together! they came over to our place and had a bbq and sat around, talked and laughed. then went out and rode a couple of the bikes ryan's made. he has a swinger bike, they used to ride them in the 60's. it's called a swinger cause the back tire can turn like the front tire. so it's like it swivels. it's hard to ride, but very fun once you get the hang of it. ryan has also made a couple chopper bikes, so we took those out for a ride, we all were enjoying ourselves, even the kids were having a good time riding on our laps.

Good Time Golfing

i just have to start by saying that i love the garff's!
rachael and i have been friends for about ten years and she is hilarious and we are always laughing when we are together. when we were younger we got into mischief quite a bit...and we still do except our husbands are with us.
we thought it would be fun to go miniature golfing, and we found this place that did it with black lights. we thought that would make it even more fun, but after we paid and went into this big black room we realized it was for children, maybe ages 2-10 years old. that didn't stop us from having fun and finding entertainment for the night.
